Leaf: Pinnate, 5 to 8 simple leaves, bifid to 2/3 of their length (divided at the tip),
Trunk: clustering No crownshaft, green with swollen leaf rings.,
Flower: separate male and female plants. Flower stalk coming from the lowest leaves.
Fruit: black. 0.3 inch in diameter (8 mm). oval, thin, non persistant petals.
Seed: oval.

Stems are creeping horizontallyalong the ground before starting to grow vertical, looking like stolons.
