Origin: Southeastern USA, in swamps and along rivers

Growth Habits: Large deciduous tree, pyramidal shaped, up to 100 feet tall (30 m); buttressed trunk with fibrous reddish-brown to grey bark, up to 3 feet in diameter (90 cm); small linear flat yellow-green leaves, 0.25 to 0.7 inch long (6-18 mm), on deciduous branchlets making it appear like a pinnate stucture

Watering Needs: Dry soil to swamp

Propagation: Rooted cuttings, seedlings
