The species is named after Edward Palmer (1831-1911), an English botanist that collected many plants in the southern and southwestern USA and Mexico.
Blooming Habits:
Penstemon palmeri has 3 feet tall flower spikes (90 cm) of scented large fuzzy pinkish-white flowers, 1 to 2 inches long (2.5-5 cm), in late spring to early summer.
