Growth Habits: Deciduous tree, 40 to 100 feet tall (12 to 30 m.), 40 to 100 feet in spread (12 to 30 m.), light green palmate leaves, 3 to 6 inches long (7.5 to 15 cm.), with a lighter underside

Flowers: Greenish flowers

Watering Needs: Moderate water to regular water

Propagation: Seed or occasionally cutting, grafting/budding

  • by softwood, semi-hardwood stem tip cuttings, in summer. Apply IBA TALC 8000 PPM. Use intermittent mist. Root in 5-7 weeks. Cuttings taken from younger plants were more successful than those from older trees. Wound one side of the cutting through the cambium layer..
  • by cleft, side graft grafts, in spring.
  • by seeds, in autumn. Germinates at 70-85 degrees F. The seeds can be harvested in summer. No pre-treatment is needed. The usual germination temperature is 70-85 degrees F.
