The black pepper blooms at the end of summer. The flowers are green. The fuit are also green, black when ripe in December or January.

Culture:
The Black Pepper is a tropical vine. It is cultivated in warm areas with 70 to 100 inches of rain annually (1750 to 2500 mm), by comparison Phoenix gets 8 (200 mm). It likes a temperature around 77°F (25°C) and a humidity of 80 %. In Phoenix these requirements mean it has to be grown in a greenhouse, or maybe a very light bathroom.
