There are about 30 species of Albuca, coming mostly from South Africa, but also some from the rest of Africa, and from the Arabian peninsula.

Albucas should be kept dry when dormant. The bulbs can be lifted after they become dormant in late summer. They can be divided, or offsets can be detached in the spring.
Unbranched flower spike in late summer. The flowers are white or yellow with a green stripe
