Growth Habits: Caudiciform tree, up to 10 feet tall (3 m), leaves are spiny when young.

Propagation: seeds, self fertile


Blooming Habits:
The Dendrosicyos as many cucurbits has male and female flowers. The flowers are yellow. The female flower can be recognized to her enlarged ovary looking like a miniature pickle. The fruit is orange, around 1.6 inches long (4 cm) when ripe, with orange seeds.
