Origin: USA (California, San Luis Obispo and south), Mexico (Northern Baja), rocky cliffs and canyon below 3000 feet (900 m), near the coast

Growth Habits: Solitary, or clumping very slowly, caudex 2 to 3 inches in diameter (5-8 cm), up to 16 inches tall (40 cm), rosettes up to 16 inches in diameter (40 cm)
