Growth Habits: Deciduous shrub or tree, 15 to 20 feet tall (4.5 to 6 m.), 15 to 30 feet in spread (4.5 to 9 m.), green leaves, up to 3.33 feet long (1 m.)

Flowers: White or pink flowers, up to 5 inches wide (12.5 cm.), in late spring to early summer

Fruit: Red

Watering Needs: Regular water

Propagation: Seed or occasionally cutting, layering

  • by semi-hardwood stem tip cuttings, in spring. Apply IBA TALC 16000 PPM. Use intermittent mist. Root in 6-8 weeks.
  • by trench layers.
  • by seeds, in autumn. Germinates at 70-85 degrees F. The seeds can also be harvested in autumn. The seeds need stratify 40F 2-3mo.. The usual germination temperature is 70-85 degrees F.
