Growth Habits: Deciduous perennial, 6 to 10 inches tall (15 to 25 cm.), dark green elliptic, orbicular or ovate leaves, 1 to 3 inches long (2.5 to 7.5 cm.)

Flowers: White flowers, up to 1.5 inches wide (3.75 cm.), in late spring to early summer

Fruit: Red

Watering Needs: Regular water

Propagation: Seed or occasionally cutting, layering

  • by semi-hardwood stem tip cuttings, in spring. Apply IBA TALC 16000 PPM. Use intermittent mist. Root in 6-8 weeks.
  • by trench layers.
  • by seeds, in autumn. Germinates at 70-85 degrees F. The seeds can also be harvested in autumn. The seeds need stratify 40F 2-3mo.. The usual germination temperature is 70-85 degrees F.
