Stem: Up to 2 inches wide (5 cm.), cylindrical
Ribs: 18 to 20 rounded ribs
Central spines: 1 to 2, up to 1.2 inches long (3 cm.), poorly differentiated between central and radial
Radial spines: 40 to 60, up to 0.4 inches long (10 mm.), light yellow, flowering zone with 2 to 4 cm bristles
Flowers: White or pink flowers, up to 4.8 inches long (12 cm.)
Fruit: Fleshy hairy spherical, up to 1.6 inches long (4 cm.), up to 1.6 inches across (4 cm.)
