Origin: Mexico (Tamaulipas: Jaumave)

Growth Habits: Solitary or clustered, dull green globose stem, 0.8 to 1.8 inches tall (2-4.5 cm), 1.2 to 1.8 inches inches in diameter (3-4.5 cm); apex with white wool; 15 to 18 ribs divided in tubercles, 0.24 inch long (6 mm); 3 to 5 white centrals in a cross like formation, 0.8 inch long (2 cm); 17 to 22 white radials, some with brown tips, 0.3 to 0.5 inch long (0.8-1.3 cm)

Blooming Habits:
The Turbinicarpus viereckii has magenta flowers with greenish-white throat and darker mid-ribs, 0.6 to 1 inch long (1.5-2.5 cm), 0.5 to 0.8 inch broad (12-20 mm).
