Origin: Mexico (eastern San Luis Potosí: La Bonita)
Growth Habits: Solitary, flattened pale green globose stem, 0.8 inch tall (2 cm), 1.4 to 2 inches in diameter (3.5-5 cm); tap root; flattened 4-angled tubercles; 1 to 3 spongy spines one up to 0.8 inch long (2 cm)
The plant was named after Fritz Schwarz who discovered it.
Blooming Habits:
White or purple flower in summer (July to September in habitat), 1 inch long (2.5 cm), 1.6 inches across (4 cm), white stigmas.
