Origin: Mexico (Nuevo León: San Roberto)

Growth Habits: Usually solitary, globose cactus, up to 1 to 1.8 inches tall (2.5-4.5 cm), 1 to 2.2 inches in diameter (2.5-5.5 cm); tuberous roots connected to stem by a narrow neck; woolly apex; 13 to 21 tubercled ribs; 2 central spines, around 0.6 inch long (1.5 cm); (14 to) 18 to 20 (to 28) radials, radiating horizontally.

Blooming Habits:
Magenta flowers with darker mid-vein, in summer, up to 0.7 inches in diameter (2 cm), 0.8 to 1 inch long (2-2.5 cm).
