Origin: Mexico (Nuevo León) at 2600 to 3300 feet elevation (800 to 1000 m)

Growth Habits: Solitary glaucous green stem, 2 to 9 inches tall (5-22 cm), 4.6 to 6.4 inches in diameter (11.5-16 cm); tubercles 0.7 to 1 inch long (1.7-2.5 cm); 3 to 7 central spines, up to 0.8 inch long (2 cm); 7 to 12 radials.


Blooming Habits:
Diurnal flowers, up to 3.2 inches wide (8 cm), in early summer.
