Growth Habits: Solitary dark green globular stems, 2-3 inches tall (5-7.5 cm), 1-3 inches in diameter (2.5-7.5 cm); tubercled, about 8 indistinct ribs; each areole with 3 to 5 light yellow central spines, up to 1 inch long or more (2.5 cm), the lower one hooked; 7 to 12 whitish radials.

Watering Needs: Very little water in winter


Blooming Habits:
Diurnal greenish-yellow flowers in summer, 1.2 to 1.6 inches long and wide (3-4 cm)
