Myrtillocactus is a small genus of tree-like cacti from Mexico. The genus is named in reference to its blue-berry-like fruit.

In summer, large quantities of small white flowers are produced. They are followed by small, blue edible berries.

The Myrtillocactus is generally propagated by cuttings. These cuttings should be used at the hottest time of the year. Cuttings branch from the base, to become shrub-like as they age. It looks like only seed grown specimens produce a trunk.

Myrtillocactus will take some frost for a short period, and they tolerate full sun in Arizona in summer. If planted outside in a warm climate, they still need good drainage to survive winter.
