Origin: Brazil (Goiás)

E. grandiflora is tentatively included here. Its stems are up to 14 inches long (35 cm), 2.4 inches in diameter (6 cm) with 14 ribs, one central, 8 to 12 radials. It has diurnal red flowers, in mid summer, 3.2 to 4 inches long (8-10 cm).
