Growth Habits: Generally solitary or branching sparingly from the base, globose at first, conical as it ages, up to 5 inches in diameter (13 cm); 14 or 15 acute ribs; no central spines; 9 to 12 pectinate radials, 0.1 to 0.5 inch long (3-12 mm)


Blooming Habits:
Diurnal pink flowers with narrow acute petals, 1.2 to 2.4 inches long (3-6 cm), borne at the stem tops.
