Origin: Southern Texas (USA), northern Mexico (Coahuila, Nuevo León)

Growth Habits: Usually clumping, 1.6 to 5 inches tall (4-13 cm), 1.6 to 5 inches in diameter (4-13 cm); 1-3 (or 0) central spines, 0.4 inch long (1 cm); 8-14 radials, 0.3 to 0.7 inches long (0.8-1.7 cm)

Blooming Habits:
Large 2 to 2.5 inches (5-6 cm) in diameter yellow flowers, red or greenish-yellow in the center, green fruits.
