Growth Habits: Semi erect or sprawling, stems to 3 feet long (1 m), 1 inch in diameter (2.5 cm); 10 or 11 ribs; 11 to 15 radial spines

Watering Needs: Abundant water in summer, much less in winter, the soil should still be kept lightly moist even then


Blooming Habits:
Bright red diurnal flowers; 2.4 inches long (6 cm)
