Origin: Mountains of South America (southern Peru, northern Chile, northern Argentina, Bolivia) between 6,000 and 12,000 feet (2000 to 4000 m) elevation

Growth Habits: Columnar cactus, up to 6 feet tall (2 m)

Blooming Habits:
Tubular deep pink flowers, 4 inches long (10 cm), 1 inch in diameter (2.5 cm) in summer.
