Bowiea

 

The genus Bowiea contains a couple of species. The Bowiea volubilis, species generally found in cultivation) comes from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, and Tanzania. The genus is named after the British botanist James Bowie that collected them for the Kew botanical gardens in the 19th century.
