Growth Habits: Deciduous up to 2.5 feet tall (75 cm.), up to 1.5 feet in spread (45 cm.), lanceolate or ovate leaves, 1.6 to 6 inches long (4 to 15 cm.), 1.2 to 4 inches long (3 to 10 cm.)

Flowers: White, pink or purple flowers

Watering Needs: Grows in boggy soils or as an aquatic plant at 6 to 10 inches in depth (15-25 cm), as a pond plant, it is better in medium and large ponds.

The plant is medicinal, a sedative drug can be extracted from the roots.

Blooming Habits:
Cutting the flowers before they set seeds is a good idea to decrease the spread of seedlings.

Propagation:
Division in spring or seeds
