Home Page | Carruanthus is a small mesemb genus from South Africa.
Carruanthus are opportunistic growers: they will grow whenever the conditions are right for them. The flip side is that they can also rot at any moment of the year. Drainage is very important, as is observing them to see if they are growing or not. They can use more water when growing, and particularly when blooming. They generally bloom in summer, but this also is variable. They will only take a touch of frost for a very short period.
