The species name "valida" comes from the Latin for "robust" (and not "valid" as it might seem). This is another of the yucca species with sharp teeth. Plant away from walkways.

Blooming Habits:
The creamy white flowers, in spring, have a dill or fennel-like smell. They are followed by fleshy fruit.
