Growing up my mother would cook Purslane (Verdolagas), which was delicious. I recently bought a 6" Purslane (Portulaca Umbraticola) - Scarlet Red plant from Target & would like to know if this is the same edible plant. Various websites have only mentioned the Portulaca Oleracea as the one that is edible. On your website it says that this is sometimes incorrectly called Portulaca Oleracea. Can you please tell me if the one I bought is edible? My whole family is looking for the correct one to plant & eat.
