Growth Habits: Evergreen grass, up to 5 to 15 feet tall (1.5 to 4.5 m) depending on variety

Watering Needs: From little to abundant water

Propagation: Division in spring, seeds (self sows in the right conditions)

Beware to the leaf blades serrated edges, they are quite sharp and easily inflict cuts to the unwary.
It is often difficult to restore the plant to a good shape when it has been neglected too much. In these case it might be better to replace it.

Blooming Habits:
Silky silver white to pink plumes, up to 2 feet long (60 cm), 6 inches wide (15 cm), in late summer.
