Growth Habits: Clump forming perennial, up to 4 feet tall (1.2 m) or smaller depending on variety, dwarf varieties are 18 inches tall (45 cm)

Watering Needs: Regular water, does better with moist soil

Propagation: Seeds, self-seed, but new plants won't look like parents, basal cuttings in spring

Lupines attract butterflies. The blossom of the lupines are great for cut flowers.

Cultural Practices:
Place the young lupine plants 18 inches apart (45 cm). They like a well drained soil rich in organic matter. Amend the soil with peat moss or compost before planting.
