The var. globosa from Cabo San Lucas is solitary, has shorter spines and is only 2 inches tall (5 cm).

Blooming Habits:
The Mammillaria schumannii has large 1.5 inches in diameter, purplish pink flowers, in summer. They are followed by red fruits.
