Origin: Bolivia, Argentina at below 7000 feet elevation (below 2100 m)

Growth Habits: Epiphytic cactus, three-angled or flat stems with crenate margins, each up to 18 inches long (45 cm); 1 or occasionally 2 yellow spines

Watering Needs: Water somewhat less in winter


Blooming Habits:
Diurnal orange flowers in spring and summer, 0.6 inch long (1.5 cm), 0.5 inch in diameter (1.2 cm). They appear on the upper segments. They are followed by a spherical fruit, orange or pale red.
