Origin: Mexico (coastal Sonora, Tiburon Island, coastal Sinaloa)

Growth Habits: Usually solitary, 4 to 16 inches tall (10-40 cm), 2 to 4 inches in diameter (5-10 cm); 13 to 15 low ribs, sometimes tuberculate; round areoles, closely set; spines pink or brown with darker tips; 3 to 10 central spines; about 20 radials, 0.4 inch long (10 mm)

Watering Needs: Little water, needs porous well drained soil.


Blooming Habits:
Fragrant pink flowers with clear throat, 2.8 to 3.2 inches long (7-8 cm), borne at the sides near the stem top. It blooms from April to June, and occasionally later in summer.
