The seeds take 3 to 4 years to germinate and the plants from 7 to 25 years to begin fructification. When the fruit is mature it turns sweet and milky. And, in this stage, many animals, including man, eat the fruit. When mature, the fruits fall and release the seeds, allowing them to dry in a period ranging from 4 weeks to 4 months, depending on the weather conditions.
